Vancouver Convention Centre

East Vancouver (also called East Van or the East Side) is a region within the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Geographically, East Vancouver is bordered to the north by Burrard Inlet, to the south by the Fraser River, and to the east by the city of Burnaby.

VANCOUVER EAST CULTURAL CENTRE is a 350-seat theatre located in a converted church on the east side of VANCOUVER. Opened in 1973 under founding director Chris Wootten, the "Cultch" presents an eclectic mix of DANCE, music, THEATRE and shows for children, by both local performers and touring acts. One of its most enduring shows was Billy Bishop.

Our 2008 renovations transformed the beloved space into a state-of-the-art theatre while still retaining the memories of performances past.

Originally known as the Vancouver East Culture Centre, The Cultch went through extensive renovations in 2009 and stuck with the nickname dubbed by locals. The Cultch has three different venues: the main 200-seat theatre, the smaller attached Vancity Culture Lab, and the York theatre on Commercial Drive, which opened in 2013.
